« Breeding Queens »

A link to mankind
Through his involvement in training and business syndicates, Robert Galibert became fascinated with breeding Queen bees. One of his colleagues was breeding Italian, yellow bees; a breed that is more gentle than the local black bees. They shared their experiences and quickly realised that due to their calm nature, the ‘apis ligustica’ bees had the potential for faster development and for expansion to other produce such as pollen, royal jelly and the creation of new colonies. They succeeded in putting these new beekeeping techniques to work. Robert Galibert then passed on his passion to Gérald Méger who has continued to develop these techniques to the present day.
